IoT connectivity solution

Successful start of an ecosystem for IoT applications
Since 2023, Telefónica Germany has been cooperating with the French company Transatel, a subsidiary of NTT DATA and one of the leading providers of global mobile connectivity solutions in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) sectors. The aim of the strategic partnership is to jointly expand the range of connectivity solutions in the IoT and M2M applications on the German market, drive innovation, and build strong business models together. This is enabled by our outstanding and powerful mobile network with the latest technologies and services such as 5G SA. Completed by Transatel‘s (e)SIM technologies and thanks to a state-of-art platform for connectivity management, both secure device management and data analysis are enabled. The (e)SIM technologies enable, in addition to the German market, global network coverage through a single profile without national roaming restrictions. Together, we are providing a highly available connectivity infrastructure in the German market and driving forward innovative solutions for connected devices. In addition to global availability, low administrative overhead, high security, and scalability, (end) customers also benefit from rapid market launches. Within the automotive sector, connectivity solutions with reliable availability in vehicles (including applications such as telematics, remote control, vehicle status, over-the-air updates, anti-theft services, and driver/passenger services) are offered, and end-customer-driven entertainment applications are enabled.
“The opening of the German market for Transatel is an important step toward enabling innovation in the European IoT market, building strong business models with Telefónica Germany, and leveraging its network in Germany with all new 5G SA capabilities.”
Jaques Bonifay, CEO of Transatel
